Cricova won the only gold medal for Moldova at a world sparkling wine competition!

The 18th edition of the most important sparkling wine competition in the world, organized in France, took place between December 15-18, 2020. The “Effervescents du Monde” was attended by 19 countries and 479 samples of sparkling wines. And 11 sparkling wines from Moldova were awarded silver medals. The only gold medal with dignity was won by Cricova winery with the sparkling wine “Blanc de Noirs Pinot-Noir” Extra-Brut.

“Pinot-Noir Extra-Brut” is a white sparkling wine vinified according to the classic French method “Champenoise”, with secondary fermentation in glass. it is called “Blanc de Noirs”.

Matured in Cricova cellars for 2 years, “Blanc de Noirs” develops a uniform and elegant pearl, which gives the wine a creamy and mineralized structure. This sparkling wine has a bright golden color and a delicate pearl. The aroma of this sparkling wine is a special one, in which notes of peaches, citrus fruits, baked bread predominate. The taste is expressive, mineral, fruity, with a moderate acidity.
